INSTRUMENT PROFICIENCY CHECK.

Are you out of Instrument currency or maybe a little rusty and want a solid Instrument refresher?

For your IPC, we will create a customized plan that fits your needs. Each IPC will include the following items to satisfy the requirements in 61.57:

  • Plan a Cross-Country Flight based on a real-world destination that you would travel to.
  • Brief the Cross-Country Flight, reviewing key risks, regulations and procedures.
  • Fly the Cross-Country that you planned, including holding, VOR radial intercept, non-precision approach and precision approach.

Generally, each IPC will include approximately 90 minutes on the ground and 2 hours in the air.

FLIGHT REVIEW.

There are several reasons why you might need a flight review: insurance requirements for proficiency, or maybe it’s been 2 years since your last. Either way, we’ve got you covered.

For your flight review, we’ll definitely knock out the requirements outlined in 61.56(a) and we’ll focus on something you want do to help you grow as an aviator.

  • Do you want to hone in on a specific maneuver like Power-Off 180 Landings? Turns around a point? Impossible Turn (at altitude)?
  • Do you want to practice flying in Class Bravo airspace?
  • We can use this time to not only get you current, but also expand your knowledge and experience.

Most flight reviews include 60 minutes on the ground and 1.0-1.5 hours in the air. If it has been longer than 2 years since you were proficient, you can expect to spend about 1 hour of ground and 1 hour of flight per year you have not flown.

Ground TRAINING.

Did you know that one of the most effective ways to save time and money in your flight training is by having solid ground training?

I get it, ground training can seem monotonous and can be boring. Another beautiful thing about working with an independent CFI is that I am not here to simply check the box. I will train to what you need, in a way that works for you! (BTW, yes I can absolutely use the whiz wheel!)

FLIGHT TRAINING.

It’s time to take your dream of flying and put that into an actionable goal.

The benefit of working with an independent CFI is that you can work on your schedule and ultimately save money in the long run. We can use your airplane or one in our flight club, giving you even more flexibility. And, I have personal relationships with local DPE’s so we can plan your check rides for success.

I will develop a specific plan of action (syllabus) that meets your goal in the most safe and efficient manner.

ADDITIONAL ENDORSEMENTS.

One of the most rewarding things you can do as an aviator is add an additional endorsement.

I found that every time I added an endorsement to my arsenal I really expanded in my abilities as an aviator. And often, insurances require specific endorsements and sign-offs for your policy. Let’s make it happen and expand your confidence.

Each endorsement has its own separate requirements. With that, I’ll build a tailored plan of action that fits your goal.

COMPANION TRAINING.

Help your right-seater become more than just a passenger and photographer.

I absolutely love flying with my wife. It’s one of my favorite things to do. But how do I help her get more engaged in what we are doing? Or worst case, how do I help her handle things if I were to become incapacitated? In this course, I’ll help take away the stress of you having to teach and provide some practical insights and applications.

  • How to talk on the radios.
  • Basic flying skills.
  • Operating the radios, transponder and GPS.
  • Basic emergencies and checklist usage.

We’ll spend some time on the ground covering the basics and might even have a guest appearance from my wife Grace. Then we’ll take it the air and get some practice.
